Nexus Bomb Suit

The Nexus bomb suit is the latest and most advanced design of bomb suit. It is a complete EOD/IEDD ensemble and provides the highest levels of protection from the four main threats encountered by EOD/IEDD operators of fragmentation, overpressure, impact and heat. The outer material is constructed from certified flame retardant material, such as Nomex® Delta T, and this material can also be used to cover the bomb suit helmet, providing optimal protection for EOD/IEDD operators from the flammability associated with blasts from explosive devices. A key feature of the Nexus bomb suit is its zonal armour system, which provides outstanding blast protection with maximum mobility, flexibility and comfort. The highest protection level is afforded to life critical areas of the body, such as the neck, chest and groin, with STANAG 2920 V50's ranging from 1,900 m/sec to 450 m/sec. These levels of protection can be adjusted to suit individual customers needs.

Mine Clearance/EOD Suit

The mine clearance and EOD search suits are extremely versatile and comfortable, and are designed to be worn by personnel who have to look for EOD/IED devices and anti personnel mines. They come in two basic designs: Mine Clearance Jacket (MCJ) and Mine Clearance Apron (MCA), and are designed in a modular fashion to allow different elements to be worn depending on the task being undertaken. Both jackets provide fragmentation, blast and ballistic protection to the whole body, including back, front, side, neck, under arm protection, and lower groin protection that wraps completely under the groin protecting from ground blast up into the suit. The trousers are articulated at the knees, giving the user good mobility and flexibility. The sleeves are independent of the jacket, allowing them to be adjusted for different shoulder sizes, and also allowing for greater comfort and freedom of movement. The suits are normally used in conjunction with a PASGT ballistic helmet fitted with a fragmentation face shield.

Shield

The mine clearance and EOD shield is a unique and invaluable shield, which has been specifically designed for mine clearance and EOD work. It is designed to be used by operatives requiring protection from small anti personnel mines during mine clearance operations and EOD operatives in support of EOD technicians. The shield has two telescopic legs that can be placed into the ground to support it in the upright position, a centrally located window, and below it a sliding hatch enabling operators to use a manipulator from behind the safety of the shield. Two handles are fitted to the reverse of the shield to assist in carrying it.
